Creole String Beans deliver the pure uncut sound of South Louisiana music at it's finest. Blending the funky urban rumboogie of New Orleans with the heartbreak triplets of Acadian swamp pop, they're a band that keeps the dancefloor packed with swinging and sweating jitterbuggers.
Fronted by vocal-guitarist, Rick Olivier (aka "rico") and veteran bass/vocalist, Rob Savoy, and supported by Brian Rini on piano/vocals, Mike Sipos on drums, and the "Terrytown Horns" of Travis Blotsky and Derek Huston, the 'Beans mission has always been to keep the unique sounds of South Lousiana alive and kicking into the 21st Century.
Their Shrimp Boots and Vintage Suits"CD was awarded the 2011 Roots Rock Album of the Year by Offbeat Magazine readers and placed on the Grammy shortlist in that category. Shrimp Boots also features seven hard-hitting originals penned by Olivier and Rini, mixed with seven deep-crypt, obscure covers discovered by their relentless crate-digging into America's richest musical culture.
One of their originals, Funky Spillway, was featured on the Birthplace Of Jazz TV commercial for Louisiana tourism and broadcast nationwide.
