Pete Fountain (Traditional Jazz) An icon of New Orleans’ traditional Dixieland jazz, the internationally renowned clarinetist, who turns 82 in July, gained fame as the lead jazz musician on the Lawrence Welk show. Pete mesmerizes audiences with his good-natured personality and his lively Dixieland repertoire, both of which have remained largely unchanged since the late 1950s.
