The Salio Project was created in Summer 2012 and is a pioneer of modern pop music in the Republic of Georgia. From the early days, the ambition of the band was to show the world the product of modern Georgian culture. The band was fortunate to be spotted by producers of NO Jazz festival - during the Batumi Jazz festival jam sessions. Currently the band is comprised of:
Salome “Salio” Korkotashvili (Vocals, Songwriting) - Formerly founder of band Paparazzi. Salome wrote her first hit single “Stars” at the age of 11. The song topped the local charts for 1 year. Paparazzi fell apart in 2006 and Salome went on with solo career until starting cooperation with current members of the band and the manager GeGa Japaridze.
BeQa Japaridze ( Keyboard, midi-keyboards, samples, arrangements, sound producing) - Former of also locally famous and chart leader band Green Room, the music style of which ranged from pop-rock to electronic. He also performed as a Dj on several shows. Founder of Tbilisi Open Air festival. Beqa joined the band by initiative of GeGa Japaridze (Manager) . The tandem appears to be successful.
Tornike “Dirty Harry” Margvelashvili - (Guitar, Bass guitar) Guitarist and songwriter of the most famous alternative indie rock band in Georgia - Pornopoezia.
Papuna “Papuna Drummer” Zhamierashvili (Live & el. Drums) Drummer of Pornopoezia, currently also performs with solo one artist project Papuna Drummer – Electronic music with live drums. GeGa Japaridze (Manager) – Founder of Massive Project Media Holding / Artist Management / Video Production / Promoting Company, has worked with over 250 artists from all over the world. GeGa is simultaneously managing two successful Music Projects.
